Does Memengo use the password that you've stored in its app to login to websites that require user names and passwords, the app doesn't seem to be doing that form me. I've set up the correct links on each for instance credit card that has a login site for a password, brings me to the login page but does not use the username and password i've stored in Memengo to log me onto the site. Disappointed if the app does not take care of that.
As has been outlined in FAQ over here it does not. Apple does not allow this level of interaction with Safari on iPhone.
[EDIT] this is no longer true - the problem has been addressed, see the next post below by be.
Mark, Ted.
By popular demand, the latest update that came out last week addresses this problem. We have added a built-in web browser to our Wallet app (Apple does not permit interacting with Safari) which has special functionality to help with entering passwords. While we do not automatically populate fields in the web form, we allow you to select a field from your card and insert it into the web form. It's sort of like copy-paste only better. It's certainly a lot easier than memorizing and retyping passwords.
Give it a try and let me know how you like it.
And thanks for the feedback - you make things happen when you speak up. Cheers.
I second that. It is very disappointing that there is no auto fill function. Any way to paste and copy on an iPhone?
Ok, ok. We are working on something that should make this a lot easier.
If you are interested in trying out the beta please use the "contact us" form to let me know.
you answered above that you can't use the stored password to login into the stored website. It appears that you meant from the iphone. I am interested from the website version to click on the link and have it login into the website and fill in the user name password. Is that possible from the website?
Thanks
Yes, the previous discussion was about iPhone only. We're actually working on a better story for the iPhone - there were enough people demanding it to justify the effort. It's not going to be complete automatic Safari login solution, but it will take 80% of the pain out of it.
As far as login on the desktop, no, we don't have that feature. From the technical point of view one would have to install some piece of desktop software or a browser extension to make this work, and we have decided to stay away from creating desktop software as it would cost too much for us to create and support across different platforms and browsers. Memengo wallet provides everyday confidence in being able to get your data whenever you have to, not necessarily everyday convenience while doing it.
We may change our minds if there is a lot of demand (like we did for iPhone password entry), but that's the plan for now.
