I just wanted to add my request for the addition of color and some folder icons. I know you listen to the users (see below request for proof), so I wanted to encourage the addition of polish to the program. Sure I understand, there is much more functionality that can be added to the program that color and prettiness may be low on the priority list. But having said that, I do still want to encourage some attention to polish in future updates. I think Moxier wallet is a good example of a lot of the aesthetic improvements I'd like to see in Memengo Wallet Pro.

I NEED COPY FUNCTION PLEASE

Hi Denis, the previous wallet app I used to use on Window Mobile (CodeWallet by DeveloperOne) had the ability to make copies of individual cards, and I find that I'm missing that terribly with Memengo Wallet. The idea and usage of a copy button was so that one doesn't have to repeatedly reenter the same things for similar cards. i.e. Multiple vehicle cards, where I have a lot of additional specs in the notes that I keep for each vehicle. Only half of what is in the notes need to be reentered for each car if I could just copy an existing card that already has all the formatting. This is a huge time saver, and I would love to see that ability here in Memengo Wallet.

I could see such a function being added with a "Copy Card" button next to the "Delete Card" button at the bottom of the card edit page. What do you think?

Just something to quickly differentiate the different card types. For example I have the folder "money" where there are credit cards (so let's use a CC icon for that), account information (some other icon maybe?) and my debit card (again, different icon or different colour from the credit cards).

I would just use icons or colors to quickly see what's in a folder.

So, do you want a different icon for each card, or just for each folder?
And what would it meant to have different color for a folder - color all cards for that folder, or only folder name itself?

I've been busy recently working on a new product for the last three months, but it's now done so expect updates for Wallet to get more frequent.

One more suggestion, purely aesthetical: different colours or - even better - icons for the different folders.

N.B.: I purchased the iPhone version in hopes of replacing my previous app (Wallet) mostly because there is some kind of discussion here and also because I had the impression that the developer(s) listen… don't disappoint me! :-)

Can you paste an example of CSV file (obviously replace all sensitive stuff with XXXXX), especially one that has cards with different fields?

There is a lengthy debate about it here: http://help.memengo.com/forum/t-122088/memengo.
Regarding a possible import function - rather than cater for importing from different apps, could you just import from a csv file, like mSecure does. We could then map the csv params to those appropriate for Memengo.

I have nearly 300 items in my current app, and I am not going to retype them one at a time for another app.

I like the ability to access via the web, in case I lose my iphone, so I am keen to see if you can solve the migration issue in a simple way for starters.

Nope and we're not planning to add one any time soon.

There are many other apps that generate passwords, and with new iPhone OS 3.0 you could use copy-paste to copy the password into wallet.

Thanks for your suggestion, we'll keep it in mind in case there are more requests.

I see what you mean now with the Outlook analogy. I doubt we'll get to it any time soon, but I will keep this in mind as an alternative.

We will certainly allow creating custom card templates at some point. This is the next big workitem after the current big workitem. :-)

About our infrastructure: our servers are hosted with http://www.vpsland.com we are taking offsite backups every hour and store them in the Amazon S3 service. While care is being taken of confidentiality of the data it is better for you to use a strong encryption key - then it would not matter how confidential the data is.

Lastly, yes, you can sync any number of mobile devices with the same account on memengo.com web site. Currently supported are Windows Mobile and iPhone/iTouch.

If you have new and different questions or suggestions please post them in individual threads, I would like to keep things neatly organized to make it easier to browse. :-)

Hello Denis. Firstly, its not really a hassle, just ideas to make it better. Do you use Outlook, it might illustrate what I mean - if you select contacts and have this on the Address Cards view. What you get is the main titles of each entry displayed. I was thinking if you could select the Folder on the left hand frame (without expanding this) you would then get a preview of each card contained within the frame on the right, probably just showing the title with an option to edit it. It’s just another presentation option that I think would be nice.

Another couple of ideas - have you considered the option of allowing a user to define their own card templates? For example the bank/trading account has a lot of fields I wouldn't use. In this scenario I could create my own template using the fields that are relevant to me.

Have you any plans to publish a security policy. I would be interested to understand where your servers are hosted, what DR recovery/backup services you employ. Obviously there is the possibility for sensitive data to be stored here and complete visibility of how this is managed would be good.

I’ll keep playing around and let you have any other suggestions – one final question, could I have the same wallet sync’ed with my work Windows mobile phone, your website and my personal iPhone?

Thanks

Thanks for stopping by, Mike.

I was going to rework the sync dialog, so I will see if I can add a spinner there as well.

I'm not sure how listing the cards on the right is any better than clicking "+" and seeing those same cards on the left. Can you elaborate what are trying to achieve and what makes it a hassle?

Hello - I'm a new memengo user who happened upon this whilst looking for a password manager for my iPhone. I like the idea of this and so far looks easy to use. From using it briefly I have a couple of ideas:

- website, when you have selected a folder it would be quite nice to show all the cards within that folder in the frame to the right of the folder list with the edit/delete options. Currently you only get the ability to edit/delete the folder having clicked on it, and have to expand the tree view to see the cards within. You could display just the Name of the cards rather then the full detail, would make accessing data quicker

- iPhone sync, when you are sync'ing from the iPhone the Sync button remains a dark blue but there is no visible notification anything is going on. In the phone bar at the top of the screen you get the circle going round thing but I've noticed a lot of other Apps also put this on the application screen when it is processing/doing something.

Thanks
